For the Love of It is an excellent event, which is heartening Some conversations and events that are predominantly about producing or how to make things happen can be energy depleting for some artists - leave the producers and people who are motivated that way to get on with it! Austin is a performance artists from Oxford who has recently started to work outside - he asked what is outdoor arts about and why do people work outside. General understanding that outdoor artists are motivated to connect to people who don't go to theatres or galleries; to be part of a democratic appreciation and celebration of art; to entertain and provoke people from diverse backgrounds and ages...

Ideas for NASA: To have more regional meetings - A Breath of Fresh Air is happening in Bristol on 19th November - artists coming together to go for a walk, share information about an artist who inspires them and then going to the pub. The hope is that we can initiate bringing artists together across the country. A need to keep reaching out to new groups of artists. Like Desperate Men, who recently connected with other artists who are supported by the umbrella organisation Theatre Bristol - it enabled 10 new theatre makers to connect with Desperate Men and others. There was an interest in holding a 3 day workshop around the idea of provocations, where we would tempt each other to be provocative, naughty, push the boundaries. 3 days in 101 with a number of tutors and 'performance hits' in Newbury, Oxford, Reading...(responding to the Cardboard Sky project that Peter Post ran in Holland which was about bringing together a small group of recognised international artists and 'hitting' a small community) There's an important role in Mentoring. Looking at Circus Futures model - mentors all paid £500 to mentor an artist / company over a season, with probably 3 sessions. The relationships were brokered by Circus Futures, with a simple set of aims and there was a simple report from mentor and artists at the end. NASA has some well placed artists with lots of experience who could give important advice and support for those with less experience or who need specific input (and get paid for it). It's important for us to stay in touch and connect as a community - often we are very important relationships for each other.
