Grey power

Roger Bingham, 9 August 2012

Three participants attended and we completed our free ranging discussion in 20 minutes. We agreed that grey can mean no absolutes no black or white issues. Grey power necessarily involves responsibility- keeping the show on the road-literally in the case of the theatre but can also spill into dramatic themes e.g.politics, domestic, money, sex. Re management it is important to retain experenced colleagues while bringing on and actively encouraging younger, newer participants. Re audience it was agreed it was possiblie the TBTHL audience comes significantly from the 40+ age group -as is generally the case with theatre-but that there is no evidence of ageist preference for plays i.e the studio audiences represents the same profile as the often more ‘conventional’ main house plays.
