An invitation from Doug Rintoul, Artistic Director of Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch:

‘I’m Doug; I’m the Artistic Director of the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch. I know that local artists are struggling to make work, that the arts are disappearing from schools and that Havering has the lowest number of Arts Council Grants for Arts applications of all the London boroughs. I also know that a healthy arts scene is vital to a healthy community, and now is the time to work together on this urgent issue. So…I’m inviting all those engaged and interested in the performing arts in our area to come together to create an action plan for a thriving performing arts community in the region.’

This is a free Satellite Devoted & Disgruntled Open Space event – a place to voice concerns, have a rant, discuss challenges, seek new connections, share your experiences (or lack thereof), listen to and witness the conversation.  You set the agenda; nothing is censored. Together, we can map out a rich future for the performing arts in a changing region and turn the challenges into exciting possibilities.

The event is open to all and is fully wheelchair-accessible. BSL interpreters available on request from Improbable. For any other access queries, please contact [email protected] or call 020 7240 4556.
