D&D Vault Fest Satellite: What Are We Going To Do About Funny

Women?

The Vaults Leake Street, South Bank, London SE1 7NN

An invitation from comedian Loren O'Brien

Let’s do a little survey, see how you do!

1. Can you name five comedians?

2. How many of those were ladies?

Okay with that in mind, we’ll start again:

1. Can you name five female comedians?

2. How many of those have you seen?

3. How many of those have you liked?

4. How many times have you been surprised for liking them?

5. Why is that a surprise?

Have you ever laughed at your mum, your sister, your girlfriend, your aunt, your

grandma, your lover, the scary lady who shouts at the pigeons in the park and you’re

not sure if she’s insane or found the secret of life but she still makes you giggle either

way? Any of these or other woman, have you ever laughed at them?

Then why is a funny lady a surprise?

(Ps. If you say no, then you need new people in your life)

Wait! But we live in the 21st century, but the term feminism has become less

intimidating, but you can name one or two funny women, but you don't agree this is

an issue.

Guess what? No cuts, no buts, no coconuts.

'But' isn't enough of a reason for this to be ignored, dismissed, or unseen; it still exists.

So what can we do about it? I don't know, that's why I'm asking you to come work on

it.

All views welcome.

PSS. It’ll be hosted by a female comic, don’t worry she won’t promise she’ll be

funny, but she will promise that she might not wear a bra that day.
