Brief overview of discussion (sorry to those who were there for misrepresentations - writing from memory!

-What does large scale even mean? 1 performer, 2000 people, processions, over long period in time - ALL OF IT!
-How does artistic idea lead to choice of scale, who chooses?
-Are there certain stories that can only be told at large scale
-This is long term issue - there is not a big enough market in UK to support a work touring longer than two years - needs to go across globe
-Are we talking about touring large scale or one off events
-Why is it not any more valuable for show for 100 people touring 50 times than a one off moment for 5000
-What is the uniqueness of a moment with 5000 people together
-Money, money, money - value for money - public money, If show costs 30k thats £10 per head for 3000 people pretty good value
-What are the parameters of touring large scale work?
-Is there a model that companies can use - transport, size of set, get in etc etc that helps large scale work tour
-Why does it have to be big?
-All scales are of value of course
-Large scale work gets people out and has huge influence on place-making/memories
-Work over long period of time embedded in community can be seen as large scale
-What is culture in UK to support this sort of work from UK artists
-How does it effect UK sector by international works happening - positive and negative
-Value of community and large moment of public presence
