SPACE FOR DANCE CREATORS free from Curation yet with Facilitation.
Karen Kerkhoven - 19 April 2017
REPORT DETAILDEVOTED AND DISGRUNTLED
What are we going to do about process and practice in
At Chunky Move Studios Melbourne Australia as part of
Dance Massive 19th March 2017 10am till 3pm
At group Lizzie and ZaimonVilmanis,Claire Hicks, Felicity
Bott, Agnes Michelet and Karen Kerkhoven.
My question was how can we have space for Artists to
Support Artists without Curation yet with Facilitation.
Action Claire asked ‘'How can ’Critical Path' create different
models that allow artists to make work''.
Lizzie offered her words at the end of the dialogue ‘'What comes first the chicken or the egg the artist or the art or the structure.I want love of the art to come first and I like the word facilitation’'.
Theatres when not in use.
Studio's when classes aren't on.
A park on a nice day.
Anywhere together to create.
Boundaries did not get to this..
The second question I asked was Is Research Art?
This had a lot of disscussion and it was suggested that if it is Embodied Research it can be
Art. I now have more questions on this topic for another meeting……
Financed through Tasdance and Critical Path
Supported by Critical Path,Tas Dance,
Ausdance Victoria, Chunky Move, and the
