This is a session I have called at several D&Ds before because it is my motto or working hypothesis or my modus operandi or something like that. This discussion group tried to help participants understand why unexpected sections of society may want to help the performing arts, and to help theatre practitioners understand that they are selling a valuable commodity - access to and engagement with socially "cool" and exciting activities. I called this session because - as a black woman running a black theatre company with a commitment to black artists and black audiences - I see a lot of black work.
