Who would like to be involved in making new operas?

I run a company called Tête à Tête, ( www.tete-a-tete.org.uk ) which produces new

operas and helps others make new operas by hosting the worlds largest festival of

new opera each summer. I called this session primarily to invite artists and producers

both to let me know of projects they might like to create under my umbrella, and also

to put themselves forward to be connected with others making projects who need

someone with their skills. It was a lively session with plenty of discussion about what

opera might be or could become, and with plenty of interesting talents keen to be

This session was called by an attendee who was sitting in the big circle at the beginning of D and D feeling a lot of resistance toward proposing a session, and wondering if anyone else was feeling it...and so deciding to call a session on this precise question.

This was a session called the day after we heard the news of Harrison’s passing. Harrison was honoured in the closing circle and this session was called whilst this news was very live. This was an action focused session on Monday the third day of open space. I used Otter AI to record a transcript and then i asked Chat GPT to summarise themes and look for action points and then also asked to note anything surprising in the discussion.
What Have The Romans (And Greeks) Ever Done For Us?

I loved the chance to call this session because an unexpected interest in the classics that arose last year remains alive in me and is influencing how I experience and reflect on the importance of art. And I figured that others in the room might have Greek drama angles on the topic - or whatever else.

When I was 40, I was naughty, Soon I shall be 50….. I called this session at D&D yesterday for a few reasons. Back in 2009, a few women who I looked up to called a session about harnessing the power of the beyond 50s, and in my early 40s as I was, my heart sank a bit.
Where we've been

Over the past decade, we've held over 100 D&D events all over the country (and beyond!).
Verbatim Theatre Ethics

This session was looking at ethics related to the use of other people's stories/testimonies in making theatre. We also ended up discussing verbatim techniques. There were two people (myself - Amy Golding and Ben) making verbatim shows with care leavers. One around politics and one around mental health and immigration. We discussed the importance of anonymity of the people sharing their stories with us due to safeguarding and potential repercussions amongst peers or with service providers.
